An Outdoor base station unit (ODU) is a fixed communications location which can receive and transmits signals and is part of a network’s wireless telephone system. It allows mobile phones to work within a local area, as long as it is linked to a mobile or wireless service provider. It is a fixed point of communication for customer cellular phones on a carrier network.
